Air Premia ICN to EWR-Everything You Need to Know

Air Premia is a low-cost airline in South Korea that operates from Incheon International Airport. The corporation uses a hybrid strategy of separating itself from other flag carriers by maintaining a certain degree of service while deliberately lowering less important services.

Currently, the airline only offers international flights from Incheon, with plans to specialize in medium and long-haul routes. It has regular flights to Los Angeles, Japan; Tokyo, Japan; Bangkok, Thailand; and New York and San Francisco, USA. It also offers sporadic flights to Barcelona, Spain, Dhaka, Bangladesh, and Honolulu, United States.

The airline’s service is characterised by two cabin classes: Premia 42 and Economy 35. See below for detailed information.

PREMIA 42

Airpremia’s finest class, Premium Economy, features a 42-inch seat pitch! That’s around the width of a business class seat on Korean Air’s B737.

At the start of its business, the airline stated that the 42-inch Premium Economy cabin would be 140% more expensive than the FSC Economy cabin, which remains the case today. Delta’s Premium Economy seat measures 38 inches. In addition, the Premia 42 includes free drinks and meals on all routes.

ECONOMY 35

Economy class is the lowest category, although the seats are a full 35 inches apart. That’s a lot of legroom for Korean Air’s economy, which is 34 inches. The distinction between Premium Economy and Economy is that Premium Economy chairs are leather, while Economy seats are cloth.

Most journeys include free beverages and meals as default.
However, second-hand aircraft have narrower seats than LCCs, which is not a major issue because they are primarily employed on short-distance flights such as Tokyo. In the future, old aircraft will be restored to retain the original Air Premia seating layout.

Ticket price

Airpremia’s economy prices average around $600 to $800 for a direct, round-trip flight, which is about 30% cheaper than another direct, round-trip carrier, Korean Air. I think it’s a very appealing alternative.

For two reasons why airpremia is cheaper. Firstly, they have unified their planes, meaning that all five of their current passenger aircraft are Boeing 787-9s, which is a medium- to long-range aircraft. Secondly, this aircraft is able to fly around 15,000 kilometres. According to Air Premia, “Different types of airliners require separate licences for pilots, separate parts, and separate maintenance, but unifying them into a single type can reduce costs.”

Additionally, Airpremia has made travel more convenient by eliminating expensive business class seats and offering only two types of seats: economy and premium economy. These seats are more comfortable than other airlines’ general-class seats. “The price of Premium Economy is one-third of the price of business class on national flag carriers, but 20% higher than Economy,” the airline said. “However, the price of General Economy is 20% lower than Economy on national flag carriers, creating a reasonable fare system.”

Don’t worry about sacrificing comfort for affordability. Usually, economy seats offer 31 to 35 inches of legroom, while Air Premia’s premium economy seats boast a generous 42 inches. This is wider than the global average economy seat pitch of 29–32 inches across airlines.

Seat Comfort and Leg Room

The best thing about asthma is the seats!
Even in economy, not premium economy, and the seats were roomier.
It’s obviously much wider than economy on other regular airlines, so you can sleep much more comfortably.

In-flight Meal Menu

The first meal comes with spicy pork and rice, and another option is bland pasta. Since it’s a Korean airline, the pork is a good choice if you want to experience Korean food. However, if you don’t like spicy food, you may want to avoid it.

The second meal is the famous Korean bibimbap, which is one of those dishes that’s just vegetables with rice.

Conclusion

Overall, I found Airpremia to be a good airline for the price and service when travelling between New York and Seoul, South Korea.
